Taiwan: Cebu Pacific Air Experience

The Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) recently announced that Filipinos can now travel to Taiwan visa-free. So in this case, a plane ticket is all you need to explore their food and nature parks. The route is served by several airlines, however, if budget is a concern then fly by Cebu Pacific Air. With a recent trip to Taipei, here are my reasons on why I chose to fly with them.

CHECK-IN IS A BREEZE

Cebuc Pacific Air offers web and mobile check-in and dedicated counters are open in the airport for baggage drop. If flying on an international flight, it is available from 7 days up to 4 hours before your flight. I opt for web check-in, but was advised to pass by the check-in counters for document verification. I was surprised that a counter dedicated for people who only need document verification is open. They checked my carry-on baggage is less than 7kgs and boarding pass was issued in less than 10 minutes.

THE FLIGHT TIME

Although Cebu Pacific Air flights leaves in the late evening, it allows you to catch last buses leaving for Taipei. Based on schedule, the last bus leaves at 01:10 while the flight arrives at 00:10. If no delays in the schedule, there’s plenty of time to go through immigration and baggage claims. It will also save you money because it costs NT$125 to NT$140 compared to Uber prices of NT$1,177.

THE PRICE AND SERVICE

Buying a ticket on the day of your flight is a bad idea and most of you will agree! But since my cousin is competing for world championships, I just need to support him! So, comparing the price against another local low-cost airline, Cebu Pacific Air is Php 600 higher. However, I opt for Cebu Pacific Air because the other airline is popular for delayed flights. Another thing to consider is the airplane they are using. Cebu Pacific Air is utilizing its Airbus A330-300 which I felt a good addition to its fleet. And indeed it’s true all you see are seats, A LOT OF SEATS! Nevertheless, it was a great 2 hours trip.
